A Joy-filled Baby Shower for a Mother Who Chose Life in Rockford

On Saturday July 17, 2010 the Rockford Teens for Life sponsored a baby shower for a mother who chose Life at Rockford's abortion mill.

This baby shower like the many that have been held in the past for mom's who choose life in Rockford was a joyous occasion filled with good food, games, fun, and friendship.  Many Christians from the Rockford area attended or sent gifts to help give a mother and her baby girl a good start in their life together.

Many of you may remember her story. She had an abortion scheduled at Rockford's mill.  Mom was inside the mill and was not allowed to see the ultrasound of the baby in her womb.  When she had a chance she pulled out her cell phone that was Internet capable and Googled pictures of a baby in the womb.

The young mother spoke about this experience at the shower today and said, "When I saw the baby in the womb sucking her thumb I said no-way to the abortion."   She also shared her impressions that the abortion mill staff did everything they could to convince her to abort her child. 

When this mother refused the abortion and wanted her money back the clinic staff was very uncooperative, so she left with the conviction that the life of her baby was more important than the money.

Rockford pro-lifers were waiting outside the mill for her and have been helping ever since.

Thank you to every person who prays for an end to abortion and works for the lives of children in the womb.  All of you, by your prayers and love, helped make this joy-filled baby shower a reality!

We also pray that God may bless this new mother and that every time she looks at the face of her beautiful little girl she may also see the face of life, love, and God.

Questions Of Life And Death In Rockford

Abortion in Rockford has resulted in the deaths of tens of thousands of human beings.  A look at the website for the Northern Illinois Women's Center raises some interesting questions about how abortion is presented to the people of Rockford by those who make a living by stopping the beating hearts of children in the womb.

The numbered text below is taken directly from the website  http://www.niwc-rockford.com/ of the Northern Illinois Women's Center.  Each quote from the website is followed by a question or two that cuts to the heart of how and why we are killing our own children.

1. "Northern Illinois Women's Center... also serving Iowa and Wisconsin with no 24 hour wait period and no parental consent."

Q - Why is the first thing on the website for Rockford's abortion mill a statement that tells teenagers they don't have to involve their parents in a decision to have a major medical procedure?  How many teenagers who never tell their parents about their abortion have physical or psychological complications that go untreated because their parents don't know what happened?

2. "The clinic is licensed by the State of Illinois as a “ Pregnancy Termination Spec. Center,” certification #7002967."

Q - Does the staff of the abortion mill tell mothers that when they "terminate a pregnancy" that they are stopping the beating heart of a little boy or girl? That their baby's arms, legs, hands, feet, head, and torso are ripped apart when the baby is killed?   http://www.abortionno.org/

Are mothers told that their baby has to be reassembled after she is killed so no body parts are left inside the mother?

3. "Medical Abortion / We are pleased to offer this procedure. The early option pill / You will be inducing a miscarriage, so you will need to have someone available to help you should that become necessary."

Q - On this website they say they are "pleased to offer this procedure" that causes a miscarriage.  Do they really think it is a pleasing thing to have a miscarriage?  Is it really a pleasing thing for a woman to have her child die within her?

4. "Although major problems or complications are uncommon, some source of emergency care must be available. We ask that you be within 1 hour of this clinic or a hospital."

Q - The Northern Illinois Women's Center asks that their patients be within one hour of a hospital in case of a medical emergency.  It's interesting to note that both abortionists who work at the Rockford mill live in Wisconsin and presumably live more than an hour away.  Are mothers told that the person who is ending the life of their child is an out of state abortionist?

5. "Northern Illinois Women's Center is pleased to offer post-abortion counseling. We encourage you to call us to set up a time when you may speak with a counselor, either in person or over the phone. Times available are Wednesday and Friday, late morning or early afternoon."

Q - We all know of the proven and devastating effects abortion can have on a woman's life. Are mothers told of these emotional, spiritual, and physical complications before they have an abortion?  The women we have talked with who have had abortions in Rockford said they have received none of this information before their abortion.  Why?  http://www.abortionfacts.com/effects/effects.asp

Are these "counselors" the same people who take part in the killing of children inside the abortion mill? 

Isn't it disrespectful to women to suggest that after her child has died that "phone counseling" is enough to help her deal with the death of her son or daughter?   http://www.silentnomoreawareness.org/

6. "Fees are based on the gestational age of the pregnancy."

Q - Aren't they really saying the older the child in the womb the more it costs to end her life?  It's not really the "age of the pregnancy" but the age and size of the baby that causes the price to go up?

7. "Payment is expected in full at the day of the procedure. We take cash, money order and credit cards (Visa, MasterCard, Discover, American Express, Visa/MasterCard debit card).  We do not take personal checks."

Q - The pro-lifers who stand outside the mill and at the Pregnancy Care Center offer free help to any mother or child in need yet the Northern Illinois Women's Center demands full payment before the procedure.  Who really "trusts women"- the people who want cash up front, or the people who offer free help?

8. "Do not bring any children."

Q - Why is the N.I.W.C so afraid of letting a parent bring a live child that people can see into the abortion clinic?

9. "Northern Illinois Women's Center is located in Rockford, Illinois in the Turner Building at the corner of Broadway and 10th Street."

Q - Do the clinic staff ever explain to the mothers and fathers why the building where their child is scheduled to die has had signs mocking God, signs displaying peoples personal medical information, and a sign counting the deaths of children in this clinic as a victory over Jesus Christ?     http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=W6TM_RhTnCQ&feature=player_embedded

10. "Due to privacy issues and sterile conditions, only our Medical Staff can be with you during the ultra sound, lab testing, procedure and post-operative recovery time."

Q - We all know spouses or loved ones can be with any woman when she has an ultra-sound of her baby in a doctors office.  What is the real reason they won't allow a support person to be with a mother when she has an ultra-sound?  Could it have anything to do with the fact that 90% of women choose life when they see an ultra-sound of the baby in their womb?  Are they hiding something from mothers?

11. "It is safer to have an abortion than it is to carry a pregnancy to term."

Q - With this last statement on the NIWC website it appears they are promoting the killing of children in the womb.  Being so-called medical professionals aren't they responsible for the health and safety of both mother and child?  Since a baby ends up dead with every abortion, how can they call it safe?

Do they tell these mothers of the hundreds of women who have died in legal abortions?

Rockford's abortion mill is not a sign that women are free but that we as a community have failed our mothers and children.  It is time for the violence and self-loss of abortion to end in Rockford.
